Bite This - Episode 14 The Omen (1976) - The Ome Bite This - Episode 14

The Omen (1976) - The Omen had some of the weirdest events occur during filming. For those who are unaware, The Omen is about a little boy who also happens to be the antichrist. The evil boy is the cause of many tragedies in the movie, such as dog attacks and horrific 'accidents'. However, on the set, similar accidents and events started to occur. First, Gregory Peck's son committed suicide during the filming of the movie. While this may just appear to be a tragic coincidence, it wasn't the worst event to have occurred.

There were also several horrific vehicular accidents that occurred on set. A member of the crew was involved in a horrible car accident when driving to set and a scriptwriter's plane was struck by lightning while traveling to the set. While one plane being struck by lightning may not appear to be too scary, Gregory Peck's aircraft was also struck by lightning while traveling to the set on a different day. Finally, another plane that attempted to take off from set tragically crashed into a nearby road and killed all 11 crew members on board.

Next up we have - Ram Singh Chauhan’s mustache is the longest, at 14 feet!

The Indian man’s facial hair was measured in Rome, Italy, on March 4, 2010.

It is unknown what Ram has been up to since, or how long his moustache is now, but the record-breaker has yet to be beat.

When he won the record, he had been growing his moustache since 1970, spending two hours every day pampering it to ensure its continual growth – but said he only washes it once a fortnight.

And lastly - The Dance With The Dead

A Madagascar tribe ritual requires dancing with dead loved ones.

The Malagasy tribe of Madagascar has a tradition of dancing with dead relatives as part of the Famadihana funeral process. Once every 7 years, they would recover their ancestors’ dead bodies from their graves, dress them in fresh cloth, and dance around the tomb.

In the Shower Thoughts! 🚿 Today I think back t In the Shower Thoughts! 🚿

Today I think back to another experience with a friend of mine in university. This is now a time when I was older and really has a bit of a better grasp on life and on who I was at the time and who I wanted to be.

There was one class that I used to take where I always sat beside the same girl. She was super quirky and funny and always made the professor laugh too! That kind of 'smart funny' you know. The person who says what we are all thinking. There was one day that we all walked in the prof decided to give us all a random assignment. He said I want each and every one of you to come up here and say one word that represents you entirely. Sounded simple but actually took some effort to really find one word that defined me - all of me. My turn came up - I walked up and for some reason I froze. I have no idea why, but I did. Then my friend piped in and made one of her hilarious comments and the whole room loosed up. I started to feel comfortable again and then just said - #Pride. That is one word that just made so much sense to me. Proud to be me. Proud of my life. Of my friends and family. And proud to have the opportunity to be 'me'!

What would your one word be?

Pride Month is always the most epic time of the year! The #Laughter #Love and #Joy is what it is all about! 🌈🤍

This year we had an opportunity to celebrate this joyous occasion with @telus - and let's just say that they absolutely know how to party it up at Pride! They are all about providing awesome service and they also love #animals - which you guys know we are all about! 🐕 This year we had a chance to bring our little #Koffee with us and our #LittleLeah joined in for the fun as well!

Bite This - Episode 13 Someone paid $10,000 for i Bite This - Episode 13

Someone paid $10,000 for invisible artwork.
The art world can be crazy. Remember that time when people thought a pair of glasses left on a museum floor was an art piece? Like, they took photos and observed it and all? Apparently, it doesn’t end there. In 2011, an art collector once paid $10,000 for oxygen. Fresh Air was an invisible sculpture created by actor James Franco. It’s basically what the name says: an “Endless tank of Oxygen.”

The average American breast size increased in the last 20 years. According to a study with 60,000 participants, the average American bra size has increased from 34B to 34DD. That’s about 3 full sizes up.

In France, women could take their husbands to court for impotence. The Middle Ages is no stranger to crazy facts, and this is just one of them: In the 16th century France, women had the right to take their impotent husbands to court. There, his genitals would be examined by a group of priests and midwives who would try to get it erect.

In The Shower Thoughts!  I remember a time back In The Shower Thoughts!

I remember a time back in grade 9 when one of my best friends was just not acting the same anymore. She was always so kind - she walked in with a smile on her face everyday - she literally could light up a room - but then one day I started to notice that she just wasn't acting like herself. Her tone changed, the way she walked changed, and she could barely even look me in the eyes when she spoke to me. I tried talking to her about it, but at first she didn't really want to share, so I gave her some space - but every so often I would check in and bring it up again - as gently as I could. I just didn't want to see her suffer. Eventually she asked if she could chat with me in this really quiet spot around the back of the school where nobody would be able to bother us. She told me that she was struggling with identifying herself and what she wanted in life, as well as just trying to sort through her sexuality. She said she thought she might be attracted to girls and that she was afraid to tell her parents and afraid to approach the girl in school that she liked - and that it kept weight heavier on her every single day. I told her I totally get it - and for her to literally NOT STRESS about that - it was what we were 'all' going through at the time - just not expressing it. I told her to sit down with parents and just be herself - just speak to them openly and it should go well. She was super nervous but she came to school the next day with the biggest smile on her face. She said the talk went extremely well and that her parents were SO good with it and just told her that they want her to be happy!

It's that time again - we've landed on #Pride month which is literally my favourite month ever! Celebrating #LOVE in all its glory is what it is all about! Love is where everything is at - it just makes sense of life and leads to nothing but excitement, joy and happiness! I love everyone so much and I can't wait to celebrate this month in the most epic way! See you all at the Parade this week! 🏳️‍🌈🤍🙏🎉

In the Shower Thoughts! 🚿 Today I had a reall In the Shower Thoughts! 🚿

Today I had a really fun memory pop into my mind! The time when one of my friends had invited me to her wedding she was going to be having a traditional Indian wedding. Basically lots of beautiful dresses and outfits gorgeous decor and incredibly delicious food! Halfway through the event - there was a beautiful dance performance and to my supervise - she had one of the dancers pull me in! I was so nervous and I tried pulling away, but they finally got me in there and I had the BEST time ever! It totally inspired me to take classes! The lesson here is honestly do what makes you uncomfortable from time to time - as it will really change your perspective on things! Good to challenge yourself for sure!

@dermaniche - absolutely love that you guys challenge yourselves as a brand and that my daily routine is comprised of products that are #crueltyfree #vegan and #natural. All things that we love to see!

Bite This - Episode 11! In 1958 two pilots flew a Bite This - Episode 11!

In 1958 two pilots flew an aircraft for more than two months without landing and refueling by matching speed with a truck driving down a road. Their record has not been broken! The pilots Robert Timm and John Cook set the record for (refueled) flight endurance in a used Cessna 172. ✈️

In the 1630s there was a song only played in the Sistine Chapel. The Vatican kept the composition of MISERERE MEI, DEUS secret for 150 years until 14-year old Mozart listened to it 2 times, transcribed it from memory and produced the first unauthorized copy. This is one of the earliest records of musical piracy. 🎶

On Wednesday, November 24, 1971, a man identified as Daniel Cooper bought a $20 one-way ticket on Northwest Airlines on Flight 305 from Portland, Oregon to Seattle, Washington. Cooper was described as being in his mid-40s, wearing a business suit, an overcoat, brown shoes, a white shirt, and a black tie. He also carried a briefcase and a brown paper bag. 🧍‍♂️💼 ✈️ 💸

Before the flight took off, he ordered a bourbon and soda from a flight attendant. After the plane was airborne, Cooper handed the flight attendant a note. At first, she just put it in her pocket without looking at it but then Cooper told her “Miss, you better look at that note. I have a bomb.” Cooper then told her the bomb was in his briefcase and asked her to sit next to him. He opened the briefcase to reveal red-colored sticks, surrounded by an array of wires. He wanted $200K by 5 pm in cash exclusively in $20 bills, put in a knapsack. FBI agents assembled the ransom money from several Seattle-area banks and Seattle police obtained the $200K.

When Cooper claimed his demands were met, he allowed all passengers and some of the crew to exit the airplane. Cooper told the remaining crew to refuel the plane and chart a course for Mexico City. He was never seen again.

Bite This - Episode 10 Let's kick things off wit Bite This - Episode 10

Let's kick things off with this crazy fact! The Lords of Salem was shooting in the allegedly haunted Linda Vista Community Hospital, a buzzer kept going off in a patient's room, despite the fact that there were no patients there! The cast and crew thought this a clear sign that they weren't welcome in the building.

If you are ever interested in seeing something cool and interesting - you should go and check out the LEGO bridge in Germany!

The German town of Wupperttal is home to Lego-Brücke, also known as LEGO Bridge—a bridge that looks like it's made of candy-colored LEGO bricks, providing a foot- and bikeway for those looking to cross over the street below. Despite appearances, the bridge is not made of giant plastic bricks however, but concrete, and it was painted to look like the popular building toys by street artist Martin Heuwold.

Lastly, a cornflake in the shape of Illinois sold on eBay for $1,350 if you can believe it?

In 2008, two Virginia sisters found a cornflake that was shaped like the state of Illinois, and sold it on eBay for $1,350. Monty Kerr, the owner of a trivia website from Austin, Texas, was the buyer; he explained that he wanted the special piece of cereal for his traveling museum. "We're starting a collection of pop culture and Americana items," he told the Associated Press. "We thought this was a fantastic one."

Bite This - Episode 9 Pine trees have proven that Bite This - Episode 9

Pine trees have proven that they can grow inside the body. Doctors recently went into surgery to remove what they thought was a tumor. It turned out to be a fir tree growing in the man’s lungs.

M&M stands for Mars and Murrie.
Forrest Mars (son of the Mars Company founder) first spotted the British confection Smarties during the Spanish Civil War and noticed the candy shell prevented the chocolate from melting. He teamed up with Bruce Murrie (son of Hershey Chocolate's president) and the company later trademarked the "Melts in Your Mouth, Not in Your Hand" slogan.

The Exorcism of Emily Rose (2005)
Dexter star Jennifer Carpenter reported that during the making of the 2005 movie The Exorcism of Emily Rose, the radio in her hotel room would mysteriously turn on and off. And each time the radio would come on, it was playing the Pearl Jam song “Alive.” Other cast members claimed that their radio and/or television also came on for no apparent reason. And, like Carpenter, they too heard the hit Pearl Jam song. The incidents bothered the cast and crew so much, that they eventually had the radios removed from their hotel rooms. Scary!

Going back to the #inspiredbyherconference - Taylor's vision to pull together a conference and workshops that really aimed to advance health and youth education by providing self-esteem and confidence-building classes! The idea here is to really instil the value of self-worth and support girls in their confidence journey! 🙌 This year I will be up on stage sharing my story and really speaking to the importance of acknowledging your worth and understanding how to navigate the social media space in a way that leaves you feeling empowered and confident! The topic that I will be addressing is how important it is to support other women in life and in business! When we support eachother - we are stronger together! I have the opportunity to work with another incredible woman on a daily basis - as a part of the Chic Sophistic Team - and so grateful to have that level of support from a fellow female - @ok_kovtun! Bite This - Episode 8 - Horses, Cows, Spiders & Ca Bite This - Episode 8 - Horses, Cows, Spiders & Campbell's Soup

Horses and cows can sleep standing up, but they can only dream when lying down.

Spider webs were used as bandages in ancient times.

Chicken Noodle Soup Was Named After a Mistake - In 1934, Campbell’s Soup combined broth, chicken and noodles in its "Noodle with Chicken Soup.” However, when a radio commercial announcer misread his script, he accidentally said "Chicken Noodle Soup." Campbell's officially changed the name a few weeks later, and it's been Chicken Noodle Soup ever since.

Wanted to feature this photo today to call out the Wanted to feature this photo today to call out the @animalloverescue in Costa Rica that means so much to us and that really made a huge impact on us. Having the opportunity to fly down and meet the team and all of the animals in person was so wonderful. We really had a chance to see all of the work that goes on first hand and interact with the staff and all of the rescues... in a truly unique way! The team there has been able to take care of all of these animals thanks to the constant donations coming in - and all of the support from the social community - but unfortunately their facebook page was recently hacked and it has dramatically affected the donations coming in that are so critical to making all of the work that they do - to save and nurse these animals back to health, on a daily basis. Sadly, so many on social media have been hacked and affected, but somehow this definitely feels worse than most cases that I hear about - just given that this truly is 'everything' that the team relies on - to make it all work! We have included the donation link in BIO - please help if you can - every little bit counts!

For all those who have had their account hacked, please continue to push forward and don't give up until you hear back from someone who is really paying close attention to your case. Persistence definitely pays off.

Bite This - Episode 7

One species of jellyfish, Turritopsis dohrnii, is “immortal.” In response to physical damage or any other trauma, they can revert back in their development process to a polyp. 😜

We have all heard stories about Mount Everest, but did you know that there are over 200 dead bodies on top of Mount Everest? Because retrieving them is such a risk, they serve as markers for other hikers! Who knew right? 🏔️

SPAM, the canned meat made popular during World War II, is a staple in many households. But what is the name SPAM short for? While some believe the name is a portmanteau of “spiced ham,” the meat mixture contains no spices (only salt and sugar) and minimal amounts of ham. Other proposed meanings are “Shoulder of Pork and Ham,” “Salt, Pork and Ham,” and even “Specially Processed American Meat.” Even Hormel, the company that makes Spam, isn’t sure. 🍗

Today I remember a time when I was in grade 6 and Today I remember a time when I was in grade 6 and headed to a full week at camp with the students in my class! We were all so excited to be going somewhere together - experiencing and being a part of all the beauty that nature has to offer and also looking forward to spending more time with my classmates. We had a chance to try out so many different activities - and all of the volunteers and leaders were amazing! I even remember enjoying the food that they served up everyday! One part that actually also stuck with me - was that we had to take super quick showers - and I can't for the life of me remember the time limit - but it was something like 1-2 minutes - maybe even less time than that! I think it was because we were in a remote area and the water tank would run out of warm water - if we weren't that fast! lol. So now we get to the 'good' part haha. I actually ended up getting my period on this trip - and kind of expected that this might happen - as I had had a chat with my mom about it - and also acknowledged that I was at that age - so it was a total surprise - but it's always (as many girls will tell you) a bit of an odd experience either way. I alerted one of the camp counselors and she was so kind and supportive. It honestly helped make that whole experience a great one. I looked at it in such a positive way and it really helped me take that next step in life in such a beautiful way.

We're now officially in May where we have an opportunity to celebrate Spring, Mother's Day, and National Women's Health Week. As women, it is always so great to come together and support eachother anyway that we can - and social media and the new digital world ... definitely makes that easier. It is so wonderful knowing that I can reach out anytime to anyone that I wish to connect with - and it's as easy as a DM or even a comment. One of the other reasons why I have love collaborating with @dermaniche as much as I do - is because they are all about building a community of women on social that can give eachother beauty and selfcare tips - but also just support each other through life and the every ups and downs that we all go through.

Jam Jars are dented to save money!💲The jars are actually dented to save up to 57 grams of content inside the bottle! 🫙🍞 Now you know it's now all about the design - but rather that they are 'designed' to save money! 😜

Many people have been saying that Hippopotamus milk is actually pink! In reality - hippopotamus milk at first glance is no different than any other mammals milk when it comes to colour. 😯 The reason why some have stated that their milk is pink - is because the oily secretion that comes from their glands and spreads across their skin in a thin film - when hit by UIV rays from the sunlight can turn into a reddish colour. 🌞 The secretion is often known as blood sweat. 🩸🥵

Lastly, the average person spends 2 weeks of their life - waiting at traffic lights!🚦🙀⏳ Who knew right?

In The Shower Thoughts! 🚿 Today something popp In The Shower Thoughts! 🚿

Today something popped into my head after watching all of the awesome Met Gala outfits and gowns that showed up on the red carpet. I had the craziest red carpet experience a couple of years back! Had a chance to attend a screening in LA and literally had a chance to be part of the full red carpet experience!

I was getting ready at the hotel - checking out my outfit - making sure that it really was the perfect pairing to really kick things off in the right way - walked out happy - hopped into the car that came by for pick up - and landed in front of the theatre. The energy that night was amazing - tons of people everywhere - crowds and flashing light - photos been taken every second! I meet with my PR rep and get the rundown on walking the red carpet - just a few key things to keep in mind - and off I go! As I walk up - someone steps on the back of my dress and I hear a huge 'rrriiiiiiipp'. The dress was seriously torn! 🙀 I was just about to get into the spotlight for my photo - when one of the actors in the film looked over and just waved around and said 'don't even worry about it' - it's the 'new look'. All of my stress went away immediately and I just thought to myself - what the heck - it's all good - what can I do? Right! The way I see it - I definitley made my mark that day lol

Bite This: Episode 5 Many of us might think that Bite This: Episode 5

Many of us might think that our bread is stored in brown bags to keep it more fresh - but apparently bread wrapped up in a paper bag actually makes it go stale faster! The idea here is (of course) that you come in more often to buy your bread! 🤔🍞🥖

All babies are born with blue eyes. This is a statement that has been swimming around quite a bit. The real science here is that #melanin determines several aspects of our appearance. When babies are born - they don't have melanin in their irises yet - this is why you'll see their blue eyes change. A small amount of melanin in the eyes makes them appear blue! 🔵🔵

The Nobel Peace Prize is actually named after Alfred Nobel - the inventor of dynamite! 🧨💣🤯 Between 1901 and 2021 - The Nobel Prize has been awarded 609 times to 975 people and organizations! 🏆
