CATWALK TRENDS YOU CAN APPLY TO YOUR WARDROBE
If you are a true fashionista – you are always looking to the runway for upcoming trends. The real challenge though…is how do you take what you ‘love’ from the runway…and apply that to your own wardrobe?
Jewellery
Let’s start with jewellery – if there was something in particular that you loved about the jewellery on the runway, try to think about what you really loved about it – was it because it was bold? shiny? glittery? delicate? And once you have figured that out…look for that same element in other jewellery pieces that you find in stores!
Shoes
Shoes on the runway usually make a big statement – again – much like jewellery, look for what really stands out at you. Do you like the shoes because they are bold? Colourful? Tall? Have a platform?
Tops
When it comes to tops, you want to be paying attention to the fit – the general style. Is it loose-fitting? Peplum style? Does it cinch at the waist? Sometimes what is one the runway, may not always be flattering for our body type…so this is something else that you will also want to consider. Try to pick something that gives off the same vibe as the piece that you saw on the runway, but that is also flattering on you!
Pants/Skirts
When it comes to bottoms – again – similar to tops…you want to be thinking about what is flattering on your body. If we’re talking skirts – then do you want to go with aline? straight? fitted? and again – what it is that you like about what you saw on the runway? Is it laser cut? Is it the colour you like? Once you have nailed that down – picking something that falls in line with that…should be pretty easy 😉
Accessories
Last…but not least…accessories. When I say accessories…I’m talking belts…scarves etc. Is the outfit belted with someone bold? Is there a scarf that has been featured with bold colours? Has the scarf been tied under a dress shirt to give a bit of pizzazz to an office chic look? Decide what element you want to be reflected in your outfit…and add that!
