MISS UNIVERSE CANADA + OPERATION SMILE – LEILY FIGUEROA + CHIC SOPHISTIC

I wanted to take a minute to call attention to a bright intelligent young woman (@leilyfig) who has definitely caught my attention as a leading figure in the social media space – someone who has continued to show growth and sheer passion for everything that she does – that includes maintaining meaningful interactions with all of her followers, raising awareness about important issues that need to be addressed – children in need and mental health awareness – as well as pursuing her own goals and dreams – so as to continue showing other women by taking action and by moving forward fearlessly – how we can all work together to make positive change in this world. Because the Chic Sophistic brand is all about Empowering Women – we definitely are 100% behind everything that Leily is doing and truly support her in every way throughout her Miss Universe journey!

OPERATION SMILE

We hosted an awesome event in collaboration with Leily to help raise awareness about something that she takes very seriously and holds close to her heart – that is helping children who are born with Cleft Lip or Cleft Palate…and who desperately need surgery to correct that…so that they can ultimately lead healthy and normal lives. It is something that we take for granted in Canada – something that happens immediately for Canadian babies…the moment it is discovered at birth, but that can take months in some other second or third world countries – really just because it is completely unaffordable for those families. It really hits me hard to know that what is so natural for us here…is so unreachable for others in the world…but what gives me some peace of mind…is that we can all pitch in and raise money to not just change a baby’s life…but to change the lives of their families too!

For all of those who were able to make it to the event – it was so great to see you there – thank you so much for your contributions! Every little bit makes a difference!
